Sonoma County residents enjoy having fun and there's certainly no shortage of entertaining things to do in the towns and cities of Sonoma - regardless of the time of year. The choices are vast, from catching a movie with a friend, to dancing at the newest nightclub, to enjoying live music at a local restaurant or hanging out and trying your luck at the casino.

While nightlife here might not be what it is in the big city, there are certainly plenty of places to enjoy music and dancing including restaurants, lounges, and bars. You'll find lots of these spots in the larger cities of Sonoma County, particularly Santa Rosa, the county's biggest and most populous city.

The casinos also offer live music in their venues several nights a week in addition to slot machines and table games for your enjoyment.

Looking for a place to see the latest movie? There are several cineplexes in Santa Rosa as well as other theaters in Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Monte Rio, Sebastopol, and Sonoma. Some are large and modern, offering two dozen movies at a time. Others serve up art house films, like the Sonoma Film Institute in Rohnert Park. Still, others are old-fashioned and reminiscent of days-gone-by, like the wonderful Sebastiani Theatre in Sonoma.

Live theater is also another popular nighttime pursuit in Sonoma County. Most of the large cities boast theater companies that are quite good, offering a variety of fare, from traditional plays and musicals to cutting-edge performances of new productions by local playwrights.

However, if you prefer a quiet night by the fire in your B&B or country inn, tune in to one of Sonoma County's many local radio stations. Ranging from classical sounds that are just right for a romantic evening to easy listening to traditional country or today's alternative music, Sonoma radio stations offer it all.
