For outdoor Vineburg activities, Sonoma State Historic Park and Jack London State Historic Park are both just miles away. The latter pays homage to the famous writer who made his home at this site in nearby Glen Ellen. Sonoma Park, actually a series of historic attractions, is the site of the northernmost Franciscan Mission in California and birthplace of the California State Bear Flag.
