About Santa Rosa
Located 55 miles north of San Francisco on Route 101, Santa Rosa is the county seat and largest city of Sonoma County. The natural beauty of the surrounding area, the lovely historic downtown and its proximity to both San Francisco and wine country make Santa Rosa the epitome of Northern California living.
The 1906 earthquake destroyed many of Santa Rosa’s commercial buildings, but the residential homes largely survived intact. This has resulted in a city filled with beautiful Victorian homes in neighborhoods lined by picturesque trees.
