About Forestville

Quaint little Forestville is located 60 miles north of San Francisco “where the wine country meets the redwoods.” The town was once a popular railroad stop for loggers and daytrippers making their way from nearby Santa Rosa to what is today known as Guerneville. Modern day Forestville is the perfect destination for visitors interested in touring Sonoma’s famous wine country and exploring the stunning stand of nearby redwoods and sequoias.

Visitors in Forestville can’t miss the delicious wines and cuisine offered up by the nearby Russian River Vineyards. Kozlowski Farms will satisfy the sweet tooth with its pies, pastries and jams made from the berries and fruit grown in its fields. Armstrong Woods National Park is the best place to go to appreciate the gigantic redwoods and sequoias of the area. Of course, Burke’s Canoe Trips are a great way to get to see both the area’s vineyards and redwoods.

Perhaps Forestville’s greatest charm comes from its friendly residents who embody small town hospitality. In fact, the welcoming people and laidback peacefulness of the town have led a variety of writers, artists and craftspeople to settle down in the town. As a result, Forestville is home to an eclectic mix of locally-owned shops and businesses – including a publisher who specializes in Feng Shui calendars.
